Each student will ideally spend 2 to 3 hours per week on MAGNIFY course work, this includes one-on-one time with their Mentor. Self-study hours are encouraged as each student sees fit. MAGNIFY allots extra time each week should the student have difficulty completing an assignment.
The Magnify Program will run from January thru June, aligning with the local school district calendar, and observing public school holidays.
Students must be currently enrolled in a local high school. The following items are necessary to have for the duration of the program (accommodations can be made for students if they are not available to you):
Parent participation is always encouraged. However, the students will be responsible for attending classes and completing assignments on their own.
MAGNIFY conducts thorough background checks on all parties who will be engaging with students. Each Mentor must receive full clearance before being selected for the program.
MAGNIFY is 100% virtual! However, we will be having an optional in-person kickoff celebration in January. All in-person events will be in full compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
MAGNIFY is 100% FREE for all students joining the program!
We call the person receiving mentoring a mentee or a Protégé. Protégés will learn from Mentors who have experienced similar struggles and overcome their circumstances. Protégés will grow emotionally and professionally through guidance and ongoing support from their Mentors. The bonds built in the MAGNIFY program will inspire confidence and instill strength.
